Because we’re students the only compensation/ payment we can offer is a copy of the finished book and of course full credit for any work produced. In short the idea behind it is to get peoples work circulating, getting your work published is always a good thing, and we hope people will have fun with this brief and show the best of what they do. What did you have in mind?

DEADLINE: September.

Have spent a few days trying to create nice type for something because I know it’s my weak point, it still is but I think this is an ok draft.
I’d say I wish I had longer to develop this picture book but it is intended as a sample to show what I wanna do for a much bigger project, so I guess I can though I do love the subject matter which I will not be repeating. I may come back to this as a vanity project in the future.

Front cover to a wonderful collaboration I’m working on, abit hush hush until it’s finished though I’m afraid but I’m pretty jazzed about it all :)
I have an event coming up where Rojo & Baxter will have a stall set up now if your’re around the Birmingham / Manchester area and wanna get involved get in touch and il be happy to have your work on display. 26th of May people so get busy.

Doing loads of rough sketches like this today to help determine whether a loose style would be good for a thing I’m doing

Ok so I was going to a series of 3 of these for my current project. But the thing is, it just doesn’t work. There’s too much going on, it busy, it’s messy (not in a good way) and also it doesn’t really look like my work, bar from the pattern I do not connect to this style at all, it’s always good to try stuff I suppose but it’s also good to know when to stop yourself from doing work you don’t have any love for.
